Hey,
I’m Zander!

My woodworking journey began in 2020 when I was just 9 years old. It was the beginning of Covid, towards the end of my 4th grade year, when my dad had ordered a lot of charcoal and salt from Home Depot.

When the order arrived, it was delivered on a pallet. I took the pallet apart and made my mom a bench with the pieces. It wasn’t the best looking bench, but it made me want to do it again—but better.

A group of three people, including an adult and two children, smiling and standing behind a wooden bench in a grassy area with trees in the background.

My nanny’s husband was in construction, so she brought me some real pieces of wood shortly after. With the wood I was gifted, I made an even better bench. I surprised my mom with the real bench for Mother’s Day. She was ecstatic!

Since then, I’ve continued challenging myself by making all sorts of things from garden planters to cornhole boards to stools.
